Location, Props and Costume Report.
Location:
I decided to use the studio for my photoshoot because I wanted to use the studio lights to create a professional appearance to draw more consumers to my magazine when they see it on the shelf. I used the green backdrop to my advantage as I knew it would help me to easily cut out the model later.
Props:
I decided to use an acoustic guitar for my magazine because I feel that this covers my target audience’s music tastes. By using an acoustic guitar for the prop, this gave the readers a visual indication about the subject of the main article. I incorporated one image with the guitar into my magazine for the double page spread to relate to the interview. I decided against using any of the guitar images for my front cover because I feel the image I chose is stronger and more eye-catching.
Costume:
The costumes used for my magazine consisted of three similar looks. For the front cover, I asked my model to wear boyfriend jeans, a cropped top, cuffed at the neck and hem and a kaki and black bomber jacket. For the contents page, I asked my model to change her jacket to a patterned, retro bomber jacket which I feel attracted the readers because it related to their style tastes. For the double page spread, I asked my model to wear a patterned, burgundy over-sized shirt that gave a loose, relaxed vibe to help the readers feel that they can get to know her better through the article.
